چکیده

Wheat powdery mildew, caused by the biotrophic fungus Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici ( Bgt ), is a serious disease of wheat worldwide that can cause significant yield losses. Growing resistant cultivars most cost-effective and eco-soundly strategy to manage disease. Therefore, high breeding priority identify genes be readily used either singly or in combination for effective resistance mildew also with other diseases. Yunnan Province, complex diverse ecological environments climates, one main growing regions China. This region provides initial inoculum starting epidemics thus, plays key role regional large-scale throughout The objectives this study were evaluate seedling 69 determine presence Pm3 , Pm8 Pm13 Pm16 Pm21 these using gene specific DNA markers. Evaluation six isolates showed only four all tested isolates, indicating overall level inadequate. molecular marker results 27 likely have at least genes. Six found 18 5 3 . No cultivar was carry information on Pm future programs. In particular, carrying which against races China, should pyramided developing new durable mildew.

Efficiency of resistance genes in wheat to powdery mildew in some centers of disease incidence in Iran

Wheat powdery mildew caused by fungal pathogen Blumeria graminis f.sp. tritici is a destructive wheat disease, occurring in regions with cool and humid climates. In order to investigate the changes in pathogenicity of the disease and to identify the effective genetic source of resistance, a total of 29 wheat genotypes with different resistance major genes (Pm) were studied in two hotspots of Go...

Powdery mildew resistance genes in wheat: verification of STS markers.

Five accessions of Aegilops speltoides and 67 European wheat cultivars (winter and spring) originating from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, United Kingdom, and 4 non-European wheat cultivars from Brazil and the USA were examined with molecular Sequence Tagged Site (STS) markers for resistance genes to powdery mildew: Pm 1, Pm 2, Pm 3 and Pm 13. All markers gave clear, rep...

Identification and evaluation of resistance to powdery mildew and yellow rust in a wheat mapping population

Deployment of cultivars with genetic resistance is an effective approach to control the diseases of powdery mildew (PM) and yellow rust (YR). Chinese wheat cultivar XK0106 exhibits high levels of resistance to both diseases, while cultivar E07901 has partial, adult plant resistance (APR). The aim of this study was to map resistance loci derived from the two cultivars and analyze their effects a...

Allelic series of four powdery mildew resistance genes at the Pm3 locus in hexaploid bread wheat.

At the Pm3 locus in hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum), 10 alleles conferring race-specific resistance to powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici) are known. A cluster of genes encoding coiled-coil-nucleotide-binding site-leucine-rich repeat proteins spans the Pm3 locus on wheat chromosome 1A, and one member of this gene family has recently been identified as the Pm3b resistance gene....

Fine Mapping of Two Wheat Powdery Mildew Resistance Genes Located at the Cluster.

Powdery mildew caused by (DC.) f. sp. () is a globally devastating foliar disease of wheat ( L.). More than a dozen genes against this disease, identified from wheat germplasms of different ploidy levels, have been mapped to the region surrounding the locus on the long arm of chromosome 7A, which forms a resistance ()-gene cluster. and from einkorn wheat ( L.) were two of the genes belonging to...
